The Best of Halloween TV

With the cold shift in the weather, and the seasonal ranges appearing in shops it means Halloween is fast approaching! Nothing gets you in the scary mood better than the TV scheduling showing Halloween themed TV shows and horror films throughout October. Below is a selection of some of the Halloween specials you can catch to get you in the spirit!

Release The Hounds
ITV

Possibly the scariest gameshow ever made is back for a Halloween special on Tuesday 31st October. Featuring the cast of TOWIE who are kidnapped by the puppet from Saw and become trapped in a possessed church. Not for those with a nervous disposition or fear of puppets!

Strictly Come Dancing
BBC

Last year’s Halloween special saw dancing mad scientists, a zombie wedding and ghosts. Which leaves us wondering what ghoulish horrors this year’s special will bring for these devilish dancing duos. Catch it on 28th/29th October if you dare

The Simpsons
Channel 4

You can never beat a classic ‘Treehouse of Horrors’ episode and on Friday 27th, you can expect Ned Flanders as a serial killer whilst Homer is bitten by a venomous spider and Bart becomes an alien. Expect the weird and wonderful!

Halloween Baking Championship
Food Network

In the run up to Halloween, bakers battle it out to produce the scariest and creepiest cupcakes. With slime and insects themed food, these treats are downright scary (and gross!).

The Haunted Mansion
ITV2

This Disney classic is a family favourite and back on ITV2 on 28th October. Eddie Murphy stars as a realtor who is summoned to a mansion in this comedy based off the Disneyland ride.

Stranger Things Season 2
Netflix

Season 2 arrives on Friday 27th October and sees the gang a year after the events of the previous season. Set around Halloween in 1984, we have many questions after last year’s ending. How is Will coping after surviving the upside down? Where is Eleven? Will they get her back?

The Walking Dead: Season 8
Fox

Zombies are still alive and kicking as Season 8 of this gore fest premieres on 22nd October. Fan favourites Daryl Dixon, Rick Grimes and Michonne continue to survive (for how much longer?) in the 100th episode. You can expect more deaths, gore and war!

Hope you have a fang-tasic day filled with lots of tricks and treats!
