Stephanie Asplin

With a background in Children’s and Live TV, Stephanie’s credits include Ministry of Mayhem and Richard & Judy.

Inspired to start her own freelance agency in late 2005, The Crewing Company was incorporated in early 2006 and Steph now owns one of the UKs most respected employment agencies for the creative industries.

Steph is Deputy Chair of the Skillset Facilities Skills Council, is listed in the Who’s Who of Britain’s Young Business Leaders, is a mum of two boys and used to host her own breakfast show on Radio Caroline.

Stuart Hatton
Joint Managing Director


After a brief career as a door to door salesman and an even briefer career trying to become a rock star, Stuart spent six years working in the petrochemical industry, two of these running his own consultancy business.

In 2006 Stuart helped Steph to launch The Crewing Company and in late 2007 joined as full time joint Managing Director.

For Stuart, customer service is paramount and his straightforward and honest approach to recruitment is refreshing for both customers and candidates alike.

Matthew Smith
Finance Manager


Having worked in recruitment for over ten years, across a variety of different sectors, Matt brings with him a wealth of financial experience – excuse the pun!

He is a part qualified accountant and is continuing his studies alongside his role of leading the TCC finance team.

A keen traveller who likes to experience different countries and cultures, the destinations on Matt’s bucket list are being ticked off one by one. Next stop, Bora Bora! (hopefully!)

Charlotte Carter
Senior Account Manager


Charlotte joined us in May 2012 as Bookings Assistant and by January 2014 was managing our bookings team!

Her previous recruitment experience, incredible organisation and exceptional customer service make her the perfect lady for the job.

Charlotte is the proud owner of 50 pairs of high heels and has a special wardrobe to keep them in.

Laura Davis
Senior Account Manager


Laura joined us in October 2012 after three years working at sea in a variety of roles including photographer, entertainments officer and stewardess.

She tells us she is very excited to no longer have a lifejacket as an accessory and, instead, have two legs firmly on the ground here at The Crewing Company.

Laura has a degree in photography, loves to dance, play scrabble and plans to learn the saxophone.

She was once nearly sick on miniature TV funnyman, Ronnie Corbett.

Daniella Buttice
Account Manager


Daniella or “Dani” joined us in May 2014 to look after our Front of House in London and is now part of our busy team of recruiters.

A graduate of Teeside University, where she earned a degree in TV and Film Production as well as a love for a North East accent, Dani is a huge fan of 80s pop duo Wham!

She enjoys homebrewing wine and has even started brewing her own beer. Friday afternoons in the office might get even more fun!

Jay Williamson
Account Manager


Jay arrived at The Crewing Company in March 2015 with a degree in Media, Culture & Society from the University of Hull and eighteen months of experience working in production.

She admits that she once left a lift at the wrong floor because she wanted to follow the Britain’s Next Top Model contestant who was getting out.

She also likes sheep. Although they don’t seem to like her!

Dan Grant
Accounts Clerk


Coming from an administrative background, Dan joined the TCC team in September 2016 as an Accounts Clerk. Having previously worked for three and a half years for a nursing agency, he has great knowledge of organisational procedures.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys frequenting the gym, watching sports (football, basketball and boxing), listening to music or podcasts and debating amongst friends. He is a keen Tottenham Hotspur fan and is constantly likened to various celebrities, specifically Chris Brown, Drake and Reggie Yates.

Luke Miller
Bookings Coordinator


Luke is our lovely apprentice and came on board in April 2016 as part of the Recruitment Apprenticeship Framework programme, after he’d finished his GCSEs.

When he isn’t being trained up in recruiter software, booking databases or mapping clients and candidates, he is a keen sportsman and plays football every week for Essex-based squad EMH Football Club. He adores animals and has a pet bulldog called Bo who he agonisingly leaves behind when he regularly visits his Nan’s apartment in Marbella with his twin brother.

Any free time he has after travelling or playing football is spent with his friends and family.

Melody Ramsey
Bookings Coordinator


Melody joined The Crewing Company after completing a Master’s degree in Media and Journalism at Newcastle University, where she discovered her passion for the TV industry.

Born and bred in Newcastle upon Tyne, Melody is most excited to move to London for unlimited access to the Harry Potter studios and the makeup department in Selfridges. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and binge-watching trashy reality TV shows.

Dannika Webber
Bookings Assistant


Dannika hails from Banbury in Oxfordshire and used to be front-woman of all girl pop punk band, Evarose!

She’s a dedicated vegan and while she’s not trying as many new vegan restaurants and chocolate bars as possible, she’ll be in the gym, at a gig, watching Netflix or writing music.

Nicole Burns
Bookings Assistant


Our newest Aussie recruit who moved to London 8 years ago has a background in Photography. After completing her degree at a private Photography College in Melbourne, Nicole worked as a Wedding, Music and Childcare Photographer before she decided to leave home with a backpack on her back and travel around South East Asia, Europe and Canada solo. After settling here in 2010, Nicole decided to overcome her fear and start acting, a passion of hers since she was a kid. And has performed for different Performing Arts companies around London.

Nicole’s other passions include dancing, graphic design, theatre, and writing.

Office Dog


Sister to Dexter, Rosie is one half of the adorable office dogs. She is a Cavapoo (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mixed with a Poodle) and loves to get up on Steph and Stuart’s laps for an afternoon cuddle session. Our Account Manager, Laura Davis, refers to her as ‘Curly Wurly Rosie’ because of her coat and they are both favourites on our social media.

Office Dog


Brother to Rosie, Dexter is the other half of the irreplaceable office dogs. He is, like Rosie, also a Cavapoo and gets jealous if Rosie gets more attention than him. He has been known to barge her out of the way to get more fuss, and he trails his sloppy chops over the sofa after having a drink of water. They are favourites on our social media.
